A post for reference! This is a checklist of every step in my process for making hand-welted leather boots and shoes.

But first, a proud shoe mama moment: I used this checklist to guide my latest project, these barefoot-style derby boots.

Side view. Zero-drop heel and minimal toe spring, but with a stack height of about 11mm (5mm outsole, 3mm midsole, 3mm insole), so more cushioned than many true barefoot shoes out there.
